Mobility training for caregivers is specifically designed to provide hands on training for caregivers who provide physical assistance to someone they are providing care for. As a physical therapist, I have spent my whole career perfecting transfers, bed mobility, and helping people walk. I have also led many family training sessions where I was responsible for teaching families how to do these things for their loved ones.
The point of this service is to provide hands on training and in-time feedback to provide for a safer environment for both the caregiver and the client. Whether that’s getting from a bed to a chair with assistance or walking to and from the bathroom with assistance, safe mobility is always the priority. For the caregiver, this is a great way to ensure you are using proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring each client so that you can stay healthy and continue to provide high level care without burnout or injury.
